ORIGINS

The Carajillo is a coffee cocktail that originated in Spain. Its history dates back to the 19th century, during the Spanish colonial era. The word "carajillo" is believed to have derived from a Spanish military term meaning "little soldier" or "light infantryman."
The drink is traditionally made by combining espresso or strong black coffee with a shot of liquor, typically brandy or rum. The exact origins of the Carajillo are unclear, but it is said to have been popularized by Spanish soldiers who added a splash of brandy to their coffee to give them courage and warmth during cold mornings.
Over time, the Carajillo gained popularity and spread beyond the military, becoming a beloved coffee cocktail enjoyed by many. Today, variations of the Carajillo can be found in different parts of the world, and different liquors such as whiskey, tequila, or liqueurs are sometimes used instead of brandy or rum.
The drink is often served in a glass or cup and can be enjoyed as a pick-me-up or an after-dinner digestif. It has become a part of the cultural and culinary heritage of Spain and is still enjoyed by coffee and cocktail enthusiasts today.

OUR STORY

We are two brothers from another mother who met 10 years ago. After decades travelling into many countries, we came up with our own Karahiyo ready to drink cocktail with different levels of alcohol and coffee strength so everyone can enjoy it to their own taste at any time of the day.
We heard a few times the origin of Karahiyo comes all the way from Spain. Back then, older businessmen would stop by their neighborhood bar before going to work in the morning and drink a shot of Vodka with an expresso cup of coffee.
Later, the cocktail name of “Carajillo” emerged in Latin America countries with a small change in the recipe but keeping the expresso coffee the main ingredient. Most people would drink it after a meal as a digestif cocktail.
We have selected the best batch of Vodka and the finest cold brew coffee sourced locally here in Richmond, VA.
Our Ready To Drink cocktail is carefully prepared by our team to bring our customers the best drinkable experience possible.
Please feel free to share your experience with us, we are always looking at feedback in order to improve our products.
